Choose something they can hold

Graduation flowers get carried, hugged and photographed for two hours straight. That rules out anything tall and top-heavy, and anything in a glass vase. Wrapped arches and boxes both work; a box is easier if the ceremony is followed by a restaurant, because it puts itself down on a table without needing water.

Match the colour to the gown or the university if you know it — blue and white for most Dubai universities, deep red for the ones that use it. Pastels photograph well against black gowns. If you are not sure, bright mixed colour never misfires.

Timing a ceremony delivery

Deliver to the home before they leave, not to the venue. Graduation halls in Dubai are strict about who gets past reception and a driver will not find a specific family in a crowd of a thousand. If the flowers must reach the venue, send them to the person collecting them, not to the graduate.
