Birthday Flowers in Dubai: Bouquets, Cake and Balloons, Delivered Together

A birthday delivery in Dubai has one job: arrive at the right moment, at the right door, without the surprise leaking first. Everything else — which bouquet, whether to add a cake, how big the balloons should be — is easier than people make it.

Here is how we think about it, with real prices, so you can decide in five minutes.

Start with the budget, not the flowers

Roughly how it breaks down at our shop:

The whole range is in Birthday Flowers & Gifts.

Adding a cake

We bake as well as arrange, which means flowers and cake arrive together in one delivery rather than two — worth knowing if you are coordinating a surprise. Cakes run AED 90 to AED 125: the Chocolate Drip and Birthday Smile at AED 90, the Lotus Biscoff, Cookies & Cream and Happy Birthday My Love heart cake at AED 125. Everything is in Artisan Cakes.

One practical note: cake needs someone to receive it. Flowers can wait ten minutes at a reception desk in air conditioning. Cream cake in a Dubai summer cannot.

Balloons: the age, or not the age

Number balloons at AED 60 each spell out the age, which is lovely at 30 and a risk at 40. If you are not certain the age is being celebrated rather than survived, a cake-shape balloon at AED 50 or a simple trio at AED 30 says birthday without saying a number. We wrote a whole guide on pairing flowers and balloons, including why you should never leave them in a parked car here.

Timing the surprise

This is where birthday deliveries actually go wrong, and it is fixable.

  • Pick the time, do not leave it to chance. On the product page you can choose the exact delivery time, not a vague window. Morning delivery to an office lands while colleagues are there to see it; evening delivery to a home lands when the person is actually back.
  • Give us the recipient's phone, not yours — unless it is a surprise, in which case give us yours and tell us in the note. Our driver calls before arriving, and that one call is what stops a bouquet sitting in a lobby.
  • Offices close early on Fridays and many are shut at the weekend. If the birthday falls on a Saturday, a home address is the safer bet.
  • Ordering from abroad? Dubai is GST (UTC+4). Work out the local time before you pick a slot — we have a guide for sending flowers to Dubai from overseas.

What to write on the card

Every order includes a gift card, and it is the part people keep. Some that work better than "Happy Birthday":

  • "Another year of you. Lucky us."
  • "Hope this year is kinder than the last one and just as fun."
  • "Not there in person, but very much there in spirit. Eat the whole cake."
  • "Happy birthday. No notes, you are doing great."

Colour, briefly

Red roses read as romance, not celebration — send them to a partner, not a colleague or a cousin. Bright mixed colours, yellows and pinks all read as birthday. If you want the reasoning, it is in what rose colours mean in the Gulf, and there is a broader guide to choosing flowers for any occasion.

Delivery

Free across Dubai in about 45 minutes, from 10 AM to midnight, seven days a week, with no minimum order. Same-day to every other emirate: Sharjah about an hour and a quarter (AED 50), Ajman an hour and a half (AED 60), Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah about two hours (AED 85), Abu Dhabi and Al Ain about two hours (AED 100). Full details on the delivery page.

Late birthday? We take orders until midnight and deliver until midnight, which covers most "I completely forgot" situations — see late-night delivery in Dubai. And if you would rather collect it yourself, use code PICKUP10 at checkout for 10% off at our International City shop.
